Student Registration

  • Before registering, please make sure to check with your teacher that he/she has registered themselves.

  • Students will NOT be able to register if your teacher has not already registered.

  • Group sizes are limited to THREE students maximum in the State of Hawai‘i.

  • Groups will need a "team key" in order to register fellow group members.

  • Papers will need to be uploaded in PDF format to your registration portal by the end of the registration period in order for your registration to be considered complete.

  • Websites MUST BE PUBLISHED and URL's are required in order for your regsitration to be considered complete.

  • You will be able to edit your website until the close of registration.  Once registration closes, your website will be automatically "locked" for judging so you will not be able to access your website until the day after your District Competition is complete.  Please ensure that you have completed all edits before the close of registration.

  • Once a group project enters the frst level of competition beyond the school level, students may not be added or replaced. If the group loses one or more members, even temporarily, the remaining group members are still eligible to compete. This is true, even if only one student remains. The project is still a group entry because it refects the work of multiple students.

  • Changing categories or topics is not permitted after entering the frst level of NHD competition beyond the school level. Narrowing and refning topics are permitted and encouraged.

  • All other NHD rules apply to the Hawai‘i History Day program

Teacher Registration

  • Teachers must register themselves BEFORE any of their students will be able to register.

  • You will be able to view/edit your student(s) information in your portal.
